Square Chapel Arts Centre
In 1988 six art lovers bought a dilapidated Square Chapel for £25, saving it from demolition. Their vision was to turn the building into Halifax’s home for performing arts, music and ideas. Along with our eclectic artistic programme and stunning multipurpose building, what makes Square Chapel special is the ambition and spirit that has taken us from being a derelict building in 1988 to the vibrant community and creative venue we are today. This would not have been possible without the people at the heart of everything we do – our audiences, patrons, supporters and funders.
